Flagler Beach Paint Out 2010

 

Gallery of Local Art invites all plein air artists to participate in its third annual Flagler Beach Paint Out.  Flagler Beach Paint Out 2010 will run April 1 through April 8 and will be followed by a public reception April 9.  Click here to view the poster.  Artists are welcome to paint for as few or as many days as they choose.  Artists will have the opportunity to join fellow artists for receptions, breakfasts, lunches and dinners.  In an effort to make artists as comfortable as possible, they will have access to an oceanfront beach house for coffee, tea  and lemonade throughout the week.  A week's stay at an oceanfront beach house in nearby Beverly Beach will be awarded to the first prize winner in this judged event.  A work will be selected for the cover of Destination Flagler Beach.  Flagler Beach is celebrating its 85th birthday, Friday April 2, with special events planned.  This will be a fun week to be in Flagler!

Paint Out Dates:  April 1- April 8, 2010 

Artists' Welcome Reception (open to the public):  April 2, 2010 6:00pm-8:00pm

Public Reception:  April 9, 2010 6:00-8:00

Show Dates:  April 10, 2010- April 30, 2010

Awards:  First (Grand) Prize:  A week stay at a beach house (accommodates six) located in Beverly Beach, Second and Third Place award ribbons and five Honorable Mention award ribbons as well as other merchant awards.  Awards will be announced and presented at reception on April 9, 2010.  One work will be chosen to grace the cover of Destination Flagler Beach, a local magazine.

Requirements:  Work must be original and painted within the city limits of Flagler Beach between April 1, 2010 and April 8, 2010.   Sign in to receive information packet and to have blank canvases and/or paper initialed by Audrey Scherr or Marge Barnhill.  Sign in begins 9:00am April 1, 2010.  Work must be appropriately framed or gallery-wrapped and wired for hanging.  Entries limited to three per artist. 

Entry Fee:  $35.00 per artist.  All entry fees are nonrefundable.

How to Enter:  Completed registration form and entry fee must be received by March 19, 2010.  Works must be delivered to GOLA no later than 12:00pm April 8, 2010.

Conditions:  A commission of 30% will be deducted from the stated sale price on all art sales.  Sales allowed through Gallery of Local Art only.

This year's FLAGLER BEACH PAINT OUT includes many opportunities for participating artists to gather, enjoy each other's company and enjoy some fine food.  $35.00 covers registration fee.  $50.00 covers registration and all events.  If you choose to join us for certain events only, please indicate which events on the ART REGISTRATION FORM PART B and add the total to the $35.00 registration fee.
