Congratulations go to:
Randy Pitts who won first place for his oil painting "Wadsworth Reflections."

Toelle-Hovan for her third place "Porch Chair."
First Honorable Mention went to Kristin Hosbein for her "Flagler Beach." Kristin's "Flagler Beach" was also chosen by Jim Challender, publisher of Destination Flagler Beach with the help of Lea Stokes, vice-president of Flagler County Chamber of Commerce and Kim Carney, chair of the Flagler Beach Chamber to grace the cover of Destination Flagler Beach. Look for this magazine with Kristin's painting on the cover coming out soon! Also chosen to be included in the magazine were Charles Schaefer's "Shell Collectors", Dodi Truenow's "Taking Flight" and Marilynn Sternberg's "The Preserve."
Second Honorable Mention went to Charles Schaefer for "Shell Collectors." Third Honorable Mention went to Claire Kendrick for "Rock on, Flagler Beach." Fourth Honorable Mention went to Dodi Truenow for "Gamble Rogers Marsh." Fifth Honorable Mention went to Karen Ann Patton for "Evening Dune."
The judges each recognized a painting worthy of note. Tom Anastasio chose Jill Long's "Palms at Wadsworth." Teresa Rizzo chose Terry Sumpter's "The Crab." Trish Vevera selected Marilyn Sternberg's "Seventh and Center."

In the spirit of giving: Gallery of Local Art is currently hosting SHARE a MINIATURE. This is a FREE GIFT EXCHANGE, and all are welcome. Anyone can do it! You simply paint, sketch, draw, sew, paste (ANY option is acceptable) on a 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece of watercolor paper, card stock or any other thick paper, bring your miniature to GOLA and switch it for another miniature. Please join us Saturday, October 17 from 2:00-4:00, for a good cause! A PB & J Open House. Lisa Tilton's 4th grade class is working on a service learning project called Feeding Flagler Families. To help complete their first month's collections and to create awareness of the community's need for food donations, they are hosting an open house at GOLA. Their first theme was PB & J (or other lunch items). Their PB & J art will be on display at GOLA from October 13-17. Please bring food donations and help these kids help needy families.
