Medium: Draped Hypertufa

I have been an artist who has tried many media forms, from acrylic paint to stained glass, wood carving, (with a chainsaw, knife and Dremel), but the one that really jazzed me is Draped Hypertufa...something about cement that makes me happy...I loved playing in the mud when I was a kid, and nothing has changed.

Draped Hypertufa is a medium that is different, not too many people do, and with sculpture, it gets taken to the next level. I started making flower pots, and the next thing you know, I am incorporating many different textiles, like stuffed animals, recycled blankets, and fuzzy clothing, as the nap is what holds the cement.  I use dryer lint, stuffing from recycled mattresses, pillows and sometimes incorporate re-purposed  glass into designs for birdbaths and fountains. I enjoy custom pieces. I will turn your treasured old blanket or stuffed animal into a work of art that will decorate your garden instead of cluttering up your house.
