Patty Magee provides consultative services while “Connecting Art and Wellness” within the healthcare environment. Early in childhood, she recognized her calling to become a nurse and artist. Throughout her lifelong nursing career, she advocated merging her two passions into one position with the understanding of creating a more holistic nursing role. She has lived out this childhood dream in areas ranging from intensive care to outpatient clinics. The therapeutic merit of art can be defined as another way of knowing and caring for the patient. Patty has witnessed firsthand, adults become less inhibited regarding emotional concerns around illness when engaged in art interventions.

Patty is a Registered Nurse with a Master’s Degree from the University of Florida in Arts in Medicine, undergraduate studies in studio arts and behavioral medicine, and a graduate of the Watson Caring Science Institute Caritas Coach Educational Program. Her nursing career has spanned 50 years in clinical and management areas. She is published in the Holistic Journal of Nursing and a three-time cover artist in Beginnings, a publication of the American Holistic Nursing Association.

She can usually be found with a paintbrush in her hand and enjoys the art studio alongside her grandchildren who keep her frequently amused.
